Now we will consider ways of creation themes for yours devices. The theme- is that, what we see on screen Today our device. This combination of a background picture (wallpaper), colors of the upper and lower bars, text colors, in general of all that creates an overall picture on the screen. The theme can be created in two ways.

1. At first to make of the pleasant drawing wallpaper for the device, and then, on their basis, to do a theme.
2. At once to start to do a theme, passing intermediate stage of make wallpaper.
 Each of these ways is good, therefore to choose to you. We here will consider both of these ways.

So, the first way. 
For this purpose we will take two programs – WallpaperMobile and Pocket PC 2002 Theme Generator. Using of the first program we will make wallpaper, and using of the second – a theme on the basis of this wallpaper. With help Theme Generator we can, as well as in the second way, at once makes a theme, but the problem that if an initial picture big, by means of Theme Generator we can cut only from it a piece, in size with the screen of our device. And program WallpaperMobile compresses the image, that you receive a maximum from an initial image.

Work with program WallpaperMobile is very simple. To you will enough choose a source – where there is your initial drawing and the receiver – a folder where there will be a result. Attention! For initial drawing it is desirable to create a separate folder because the program has possibility of batch operation of files, and if in your specified initial folder there will be still images, the program will process all of them! So, we have chosen initial drawing, a folder for the ready image have chosen. Now it is necessary to choose the size. As the program initially intended for creation of wallpaper for phones, on a window "Phone" of attention we do not turn. We can set manually the size. Accordingly, we set for QVGA screens – width 240, height 320, for VGA – width 480, height 640. A name of a total file you also can set own, and can  leave by default. Besides, you can choose quality of the image. After that it is necessary to press button "Start" only. In the set folder you have received the total image which can be used for themes manufacturing.

Further we will consider creation of a theme by means of program Theme Generator .
The given program from Microsoft is intended for creation themes for screen Today for your Windows Mobile devices.
Let's consider the main steps of creation themes for Today by means of this program:
Step 1. Purely start of the program.
We will see here following window:

3 points are offered to us on a choice:
- Create a new theme - actually creation of a new theme.
- Open an existing theme - to open existing themes, for possible editing.
- Find themes on PocketPC.com - here all is clear.
 We choose the first point.
Step 2. To us suggest to choose the image which will serve as a theme background. Here all is simple, press "Browse", we specify a place where there is our image and press to Open.

After we have chosen the image, in a window of the program we will see as our theme looks.

Step 3. Background change. For changes we should press in the same window Modify This Image

To us suggest to change image options :
- Negative - an image Negative
- Gray Scale - the white/black image 
- Flip - Horizontal display of the image
- Mirror - mirror (vertical) display of the image

Darkness/Lightness - To us allow to adjust brightness of the image
Transparency - an image Transparency

Further there are 2 buttons is a turn of the image on hour, and counter-clockwise.

After we have adjusted the image voluntarily we press ОК and we come back in the previous window.

We press Next and we pass to the following stage of creation of a theme.

Step 4. Adjustment of a background of the Menu Start. Here as all is simple enough. To us suggest to choose from two points:
- To use as a background in the Menu start the same image that is used as the basic background.
- To use other image.
If we wish to use other image, we mark this point, and we press on Browse where we specify a place of our image.
You as can adjust this image having pressed Modify this Image (options are identical to that were in the previous step).

We press Next

Step 5. We choose colors of the Theme. To us suggest to adjust following colors:
- Today Text
- Navigation Bar
- Command Bar
- Navigation Tray
- Message
- Important message

Here all is intuitively clear. But it is necessary to remember that selecting colors, you should lean against their readership on the background chosen by you.
After you have adjusted colors and have come to a kind pleasant to you, we press Next/

Step 6. Saving. 
In line Name and save your theme - you specify the name of your theme.
Location - a place where your theme will be save. (In my opinion most easier to specify the Desktop)
You can as to note point "to Send a theme on a Pocket PC after the termination".
Advanced Options - Options of a save theme - To us suggest to choose quality of the Image (either jpg, or bmp). I advise to you to choose jpg and by practical consideration to find a good parity quality (toddler) and the size of a theme. After all options, we press Finish.

Step 7. We open a desktop (or where you have save other place), and it is copied the theme on Pocket PC. We choose in options - Personal - Today the theme and we enjoy.
By means of Spb Extended Theme Generator, expansions for Microsoft Theme Generator, the user can edit "the expanded" properties that Pocket PC, and also to create themes for landscape screens and VGA screens . 

After pressing button Finish, at you window Spb Extended Theme Generator where it is necessary to put a mark opposite VGA Compatible will open and to remove a mark opposite Create an extended theme and we press Generate. More nothing touched, because superstructure Spb Extended Theme Generator is in addition intended for creation so-called Extended themes , various indicators comprising image for corresponding programs from SPB Software House.
