You probably have installed some third-party audio and video player that caught the "over" an association of MP3 files with the standard Windows Media Player. To "cure" the problem is enough to restore the association, there are several methods, but I use this: Install Resco Explorer (do not think that just for the sake of it), select any MP3 file, a long press on it and the drop-down box select "open with ..." and select Windows Media Player, and then put a tick in the box "Always open with this program," the soft-reset - done!
